Meet the 2012 Michigan House Family
Meet The Talbert Family

LaKeesha has lived in Michigan her whole life, moving back and forth between Flint and the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor area. Last summer she moved back to Ypsilanti with her awesome son, Percy (8), after she accepted a new job opportunity. LaKeesha is so happy to be moving into her Habitat home where she can provide a stable environment for her son.
LaKeesha is very proud of Percy, who is a great kid and student. He is getting very good grades, has taken on a leadership role in his class, and is also a star player on the basketball team. It will be wonderful to see such a great family move into their own Habitat home.
“I am truly humbled and grateful for being blessed with the opportunity to become a homeowner so I can provide a stable environment for my son. I feel that home ownership contributes to the stability vital to parenting and raising a family.
Percy and I would like to thank everyone involved in helping us achieve our dream – from those who nailed nails, mopped floors, planted flowers, processed paperwork, took pictures, made copies and prepared lunches while we worked, to those who contributed financially. May you be blessed 100 fold for the seeds that you have sown into our lives.” - LaKeesha Talbert
